BEST BOOKS FOR 5 AND 6 YEAR OLDS
There is a huge variety of books to choose from for 5 and 6 year old children. At this age, children are learning to read for themselves but still love having stories read to them. 5 and 6 year old boys and girls can cope with slightly longer and more complicated stories than younger children and will be ready for chapter books where you read part of the story to them at a time. That said, they will still love revisiting some of the picture books you read to them when they were younger.

Children in the 5-6 year old age group will be making great progress at school in learning to read. The best way a parent can help with this is to encourage their children to read books at home.
